Panel Discussion: Which Roof Assembly System is the Best for Your Project?

Presented by Rick Scruggs (Fibertite Roofing Systems), Darren R. Perry (Soprema), and Jim Jannasch (Firestone Building Products)

Please join BEC DC and The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of RCI, Inc. as we co-host a panel discussion with the following heavyweight line-up:

  • Rick Scruggs - President RCI-MAC, Regional Rep for Fibertite roofing systems.  Rick will primarily cover welded single ply systems (PVC, KEE, etc.)

  • Darren R. Perry, RRC, PE is Technical Support Manager with SOPREMA, a world-wide manufacturer of commercial roofing and waterproofing.  Mr. Perry also brings experience from his 10 years as Vice President of REI Engineers and 12 years with FM Global. Mr. Perry will primarily cover modified bitumen systems.

  • Jim Jannasch is a 32 year teammate of Firestone Building Products and holds a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Construction Technology.  Mr. Jannasch has been Firestone’s manager of product development since 2010 and has held project management roles in both TPO and EPDM for Firestone.  Mr. Jannasch will primarily cover EPDM systems.

Our panelists are prepared to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the roof assemblies noted above (and when one might work better… or not so well…) as well as answer questions from the group. Please join us and bring some questions!

If you plan to attend, please click here for more information and to pre-register. Registration is also available at the door. Although we are striving to keep our regular monthly programming free, as it has been in the past, we are currently being asked to charge as outlined on the AIA website for events. We are currently working with AIA DC to eliminate this charge for our monthly meetings, and, until then, we hope that you will still be able to join us. We will continue to strive to provide interesting, engaging, and practical programming that also offers AIA CES credit.
