Presented by Amy Lamb Woods (Simpson Gumpertz & Heger)

Please join BEC-DC and the Association for Preservation Technology (APT DC) for 2016's kick-off event at Gensler's DC office.

Matching concrete sounds simple, but there are many factors that affect color. Whether your project is historic or a contemporary, this presentation will outline materials and procedures that are important to understand when matching is important.

Amy Lamb Woods, an engineer with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger will talk about the fundamentals of concrete materials, how cementitious materials effects the concrete color, how to use color measurement technology in developing a matching mix design, and other helpful tips when it comes to matching.

Amy's background combines architecture, historic preservation, and materials engineering. From the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign she holds a B.S. in Architectural Studies, an M.Arch with a focus on Historic Preservation, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering Building Materials with a focus on concrete and cement chemistry.
