Air Barrier Failures

Presented by Bryan Monahan (Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc.)

Air barriers help create energy efficient buildings and they are in the code.  We know breaches and discontinuities in the air barrier can lead to air leakage, but what else could happen? What are some real life modes of failure and their consequences?  Bryan Monahan of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. (WJE) is going to share several such examples with us.  He will present real life failures and discuss consequences of those failures as well as the failure mechanisms.

Bryan has been a building enclosure consultant for both WJE and Architectural Testing Inc. over the last thirteen years.

If you plan to attend, please click here for more information and to pre-register. Registration is also available at the door. Although we are striving to keep our regular monthly programming free, as it has been in the past, we are currently being asked to charge as outlined on the AIA website for events. We are currently working with AIA DC to eliminate this charge for our monthly meetings, and, until then, we hope that you will still be able to join us. We will continue to strive to provide interesting, engaging, and practical programming that also offers AIA CES credit.
